LIFE Fellow since 2023, MPI for Human Development
I am a pre-doctoral student at the Center for Lifespan Psychology at the MPI for Human Development in Berlin and at the University of the Bundeswehr in Munich under the supervision of Timo von Oertzen. My research interests are quantitative psychology and emotion research, including the use of machine learning in the context of psychological questions. At the end of 2020, I received my bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of the Bundeswehr in Munich. In my bachelor's thesis, I dealt with the creation and evaluation of emotion films with children aged 8 to 11 years. In late 2021, I received my master's degree in psychology, also from the University of the Bundeswehr in Munich. My master's thesis was about the creation of an automatic emotion recognition system called AFFECT. When creating AFFECT, various international data sets with different ethnicities were used to train a multilayer neural network. AFFECT showed high accuracy in predicting displayed emotions and my current research interests include further development and testing of AFFECT.
